  I just wanted to take a few minutes to say thank you to everyone who has been supporting our project to provide bears for the Philadelphia Police Department and all of you who have supported us from the beginning.  We are making big progress toward reaching our goals, and we could not have come this far without the help and support of all of you.

  Whether you have blogged about us, shared us on Twitter, or made a donation, you have been a very important part of what we are doing.  Undertaking this project at an early stage in our organization was a big leap, but I believe that we can do this together.  Reading the list of units that will receive our bears (Homicide, Special Victims, Narcotics, Major Crimes, and Criminal Intelligence), I can only imagine the situations that the children affected are in and how much they need these bears.  That is why we exist.  That is why we took this project.  Whether or not it is a lofty goal, we must do our best to achieve it for the sake of the children who need to know that the police are on their side.  Thanks again, and let's keep pushing toward that goal!

Today, in cooperation with Operation: Kid Equip, Bears on Patrol provided several boxes of stuffed animals to the local Toys for Tots drive.  Typically, we do not work to directly benefit other organizations, but Operation: Kid Equip sent us the stuffed animals, and we donated ones that would not meet the qualifications to provide to police departments.  We were happy to find this opportunity to support a great cause in our area that will benefit children in difficult circumstances, which is part of our mission.
